Honor's Splendor

Title: Honor's Splendour
Author: Julie Garwood

Rating: *****

I am usually not a huge fan of Historical Romance, but I found that this book has recaptured my love for books of older times. This book literally captured me from the start and I found that I could not put it aside. Madelyne, a heroine who was willing to do anything for those she loved even if she didn't have a love of her own. Duncan, a hero who was not exactly lost but was in need of someone like our heroine. I found myself feeling sorry for Duncan's sister and would have liked to hear more about her, but the next book will be read soon enough. To Duncan's family and those around him, Madelyne became somewhat of a light to them that needed to see from the dark. She was loveable, clumsy and impossibly different. I also loved how this book, although sad, had no great tragedy to befall the family. I have not read many by this author but I will be reading more of her books in the future.

Motivation for anyone that is feeling down today.

Review: Reaper's Legacy by Joanna Wylde

My rating*****
"I gave this a three because the story seemed a little too short even though it was 205 pages, that came from Ruger and Sophie. The book also lacked any type of real emotion. It just seemed fast paced to me."

Spoiler Alert!

Even though Reaper's Legacy would not rate as my all time favourite, it was definitely not the worst by far. This book was about Ruger, a member of the Reapers MC who comes home to find his half-brother on the couch with some young girl at the time. It took a tone of familiarity that we see in so many biker romance lately, girl meets guy, guy is manwhore (excuse my word), girl gets with guy then leaves him and guy decides to change for girl.

Zach, Rugers half brother is the screw up of the family who is abusive to Sophie(the girl on the couch) and a deadbeat father to Noah, their son. Sophie leaves town but because of a situation with her neighbours trying to abuse her son, Ruger brings her back to his home.

During there time back Sophia wars with herself on whether the club is a good environment for her son and decides to give it a try. But after some events she decides that it wasn't and pulls back from Ruger and the club. I tried to find some level of emotion in this book but I really could not.

It was confusing to me that even though Sophie was so set against entering the club life she gave in so quickly. Ruger also was a little too iffy for me. He goes around calling Sophie bad names, handling her anyway he wants and although I know he is suppose to be a rough and tough biker, you can be all those things while having respect for your "sons" mother.

Sophie decides to rid Ruger from her and her sons life after she blames him for her being kidnapped and moves out. (Not far, but still out). Another thing I had a hard time grasping was why she was really blaming him when her and her friends were to blame. Going to meet a guy over the internet without telling any of the biker guys in case things go bad, then Em goes and meet him by herself. In real life that could have been much worse, so I am glad this is fiction.

I hope that I haven't turned you from this book, it was a nice read if you love everything biker.

Later everyone!!!

Tell me how you found this book to be.

My hair journey so far.

Hair Journey So Far

Transitioned January 2011- May 2011
Big chop #1 May 2011
Relaxed November 2011
Transitioned September 2012 - October 2012
Big Chop #2 October 2012
Heat Damage August 2013
Mini Chop September 2013

I transitioned for the second time from September 2012- October 2012.  A very short period but I just got scissor happy one day after washing my hair and decided to “nip, nip”. I was shocked by how short it was.  I was not going in public like that.  So I decided to buy wigs. Whole wigs, half wigs and lace fronts.  I used a lot of products to retain moisture but I did not wash a lot. After enough growth I was able to braid my hair under wigs.  I’ve had minor hair accidents but the journey is still on going.

My Current Hair Routine:

TRESemme Natural’s conditioner
Eden Body Works all natural cleansing co-wash

Deep Cleansing:
Garnier Fructis fortifying shampoo

Pantene 2-minute deep conditioner
Eden Body works leave in conditioner

Organix Argan oil of morocco
Organix Nourishing coconut milk
African Pride olive miracle anti breakage formula

Journal:Life as a broke student, trying to succeed...does it really get better.

In primary school, my 6th grade teacher asked us in passing "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Of course, me being the jokester that I was at the time, I said "A basketball player". You did not want to be me when everyone saw that. I do have the height and I love the sport for fun but that is not a career I saw myself doing long term. The last year of primary school was the best of my life. My sis and I moved to the same island my mom was on. Met my our best friend Petina and we become a "circle" of three.haha

Skipping over that little lulu in my life, we ended up in a public high school in Provo and to tell you the truth, it wasn't exactly my best five years but I wouldn't change those years for anything. My mom put to my sister and I this simple question "Do you want to go to public or private school?" To some that would have been a hard question but to me that was a question where I looked at my mom like 'Are you serious, I can get a education in any environment you put me in'. Things back then was so tight, living with a single parent who had 4 children to take care of. My older brother didn't actually count because he was on his own by then(My stinky butt, cool, oldest brother Levy who talks a lot of crap when he is on a roll). Public schools get a lot of bad rap in most countries but my I lived on this motto. "It isn't the school you are in, it is what you do there that describes your time there."  I started my first year of school kind of slow with my school work, but one good thumping from my mom got me back there. lol. (Just joking). It was the fact that I was disappointing her while she was trying so hard that made me decide within myself to try harder. My grades weren't always consistent but by year 3 I was hitting a steady achievable grade for myself. My high school years hit a lot of high and low notes but the really lowering one was my trouble with learning. No one knew this except for my sister Dee.(That why she hits me or ask me at different intervals if I am paying attention to the teacher) Most teachers would find it difficult to keep my attention in class and in class readings. I did not have any reading problems but I found myself not actually holding onto thing I had just read. The really saving turning point in High School was when I entered my Social Studies class and met my teacher Ms.Shaw. She was able to catch my attention by actual interaction with the class which in turn was also a interaction to me. She would constantly talk and talk but not in a drone way that kept me fading out but in a way that pins the words to a student ears. By the end of that class, I ended up with a 1.

I met a boat load of people there and some that I still keep in touch with.

When I graduated High School I wanted to go abroad to attend Culinary School, which some of my friends already know, but things could not be so. I ping ponged around College with doing a degree that I didn't even want and it was trying for me. Creativity is what I do and my sister reinstates that fact by calling me MacGyver. haha. A name I have taken too. Of course my family has nicknamed her Crimson after "The Fairy Odd Parents".

Back to what I was saying! I had lost interest in college but my mom wanted me to finish school and then work. Only thing that was going through my mind was "I need to make money to follow my dreams". Let me just say that I do not regret what she said because I love here with all my heart and I understand the fact that she wanted me not to fall by the wayside from one job to another and not having a degree to fall on. I spent 2 years at college and amounted to my name 60 credits. I did not attend graduation or even ask about it because I was looking ahead to my next two years and also I could not afford to even pay for it.

My sister and I tracked our way to Florida and let me tell you!! It was not a easy time. We tried school after school. My sister at nursing schools and me at Culinary Arts. We tried avenue after avenue. My mom wasn't there. It was just my sister and I. No family help, other than my mom. I was scared, I was adventurous but I was also learning about life. Every school we went to was either to high costing or they told us we had to many technical subjects. I was like "You got to be joking!!". haha. One lady even suggested to my mom on a visit that she should marry and then get us straight. I was contemplating violence at that point. I know people have to do what they have to do but if my mom decides to get marry again, one day, it will be for love and it will be centered around God in our family. You marry her, you marry the

Some people would say, what about scholarships. Baby doll! let me tell you, we tried that route. People try to have a morale that varies on different things but I grew up with a view of being honest with others people that comes across me in their lives, being legitimate to myself and to others and doing what would have me looking back with a clear conscience.

In 2010 or was it 2011? we moved back home and were trying to figure out what path to take. I wanted to give up so bad and just close of to the world and for the first few months I did. But my mom put that drive back in me by telling me to search and search and we did just that. We sat down one day and typed in "Cheapest schools in the world". haha. True tale. China was our first hit and I turned to my sis and asked "How fast do you think we could learn Chinese?". She was like "Not too fast, we're still trying to learn Spanish."

We found Memorial University of Newfoundland and even though it didn't have the degree in what I wanted to do, which is Culinary Arts, I used my Business Administration credits and what do you know? We got accepted. We jumped for joy, did some Rocky fist pumps and then set back down. Everything from then seemed to be going well until it was time for our medical and we found out my sis had to go in the hospital for surgery.(I want to thank Dr.Menzie for actually catching onto something and referring us to Dr.Perry) At that point I wanted to cry. My twin, my best friend, my confidant was to have surgery. We felt that blow to our dreams like a brick. We questioned God many times, Why can't we just catch a break? Why can't we be like some people, why did Sailor Moon come of Tv(lol), why don't we have a dad that they could turn to for help, why can't we be rich(I threw that one in there but I am happy with a normal why can't we just catch a flipping break at least once in our lives? People please don't do like uwe did and question God. Sometimes you may find a deep hole but the hole isn't always a deep as many others. Don't let it reach that far.

When we ended up in Dr.Perry office. The first thing I asked was "How soon can you get her up and out?"  Because the deadline was ticking and that was our chance. They told us that she might not be able to take the surgery now. Of course, people who know me know that I am a persuader, I stated my case like Tom Cruise in 'A Few Good Men", and thank God she heard our plea.

I was scared for my sister, my mom was scared and I knew my sister was too. Surgery was something neither of us had ever done. My mom took days off and spent every tiring day there, even waiting out those surgery doors. My aunt Sis even waited with her. (A thank you to her)

I would like to also thank the hospital staff because I spent every day from sun up to sun down sitting by my sister bedside, in that small chair (Im 5'11), in that cold A/C (I had only a small coat) just watching her when she was sleeping and encouraging her to get up soon, because we still have dreams to see to and goals to accomplish. I literally didn't even move one step out of that room other than to get my sis whatever she needed or wanted, a). because I didn't want to disturb the other patients in the other rooms and b) I know they were doing us a big favour. I even ate the hospital food. haha. It is actually good.

When she left there, we were back on track. We got our student Visa, Dee was recovering good, and then we left for our very first time ever entering Canada. We had never even stepped a toenail inside of Canada and there we went like 'Little House on the Prairie' children prancing through the big bad world on our mother dime.

Here we go in Business again, this time passing every course (Math caught me up. I always need help on that one), me trying to keep my attention from drifting off in big classes, getting lost on buses, standing on uncovered sidewalks waiting for the bus in the snow. (I actual like the snow, not the ice slippery sidewalks)

Year one passes, Year two comes but what do you know. Back to square one. Money. How am I going to survive when prices are rising? When money is getting tight and planning has to be put into action, where do I begin with that action? I can tell you that the life of a student isn't easy one bit. Whoever said life was easy anyway! If you know who, send me a comment on the person and I will check see if they are lying. I don't, and never expected life to be easy because what is life without tales of overcoming? Where do you think life movies and self help books come from? Life experiences. Everything we are is a factor of how we go through life.

Money that my mom works for goes into food and bills. That is it. That is all I want it to be right now. I don't want to max out her and our resources on meaningless things. I do whatever it is to save and sometimes missing meals, not buying the stuff you need, etc can derail you but that is something I have been willing to do while I decide what changes are to be made in 2014...

So today after sharing what my student life is, I have decided to not give up on my dreams and goals but to succeed in them. During the summer I might make the decision to return home and try online schooling. I am not looking to have handouts or to weigh on anyones shoulders. I am looking to be a better me in 2015.I am looking to do what I said I was going to do in High School and I am marking that date of completion as 2016. I might even decide to make blogging a small part of my sis and I lives and getting IslandGurlz3900 out as a household name. Why 'IslandGurlz3900' people may ask? Dee thought of it and I said "sure, whatever you choose." Lol. So ask her.

Last words to you.

Don't let life be the deciding factor in what can and cannot be done. Don't sit back and expect other people to take over the steering wheel of your car. Sometimes we may dent our cars, get cracks in the windshields and God forbid wreck it. But those events do not decide how you will remember it.

Quote that I remember everytime I get discouraged.

I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for itself.

Craving a sweet and sour dish?? Well, look right in your cabinets.

For certain people in the Turks and Caicos, that love to go to Chinese restaurants when they are away but can't seem to find a really good one while back at home or it is too expensive. Why go out and spend that extra money when you can find all your sauce ingredients right at home? and if not, the cost of a bottle of soy sauce can go a long way in your dishes.

All you need for your sweet and sour sauce is 6 simple ingredients found in your cabinets and stores. Sugar, white vinegar, water, soy sauce, ketchup and flour, and you are done.

3/4 cup white sugar
1/3 cup white vinegar
2/3 cup water
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon ketchup
2 tablespoons flour

Add all 6 ingredients at the seem time on medium heat and keep stirring. Let it thicken up.

This sauce is great to add with meat and veggies over a dish of white rice. Don't break the bank eating out everyday.

Amazing Grace can't carry a tone.....sweet gramma's can.

For the purposes of this post I am reverting back to my "Kew Talk". Real English is not permitted in this post.haha.Enjoy the ride!!

I can tell you my grammy is a spritely lady with a mean lick(Some people don't believe me when I say it but I dare you to cross her). She bakes bread that could be considered illegal to the streets or leaves your heart with a unnatural beat. When you go on up to that house on the hill across from "low well' you can either see her looking out the door or walking around the yard. Not to say that she's down on her age because that lady sure can get around.I think she probably goes out more than I do.

Whoever heard of getting a ride so someone can drive you around to visit your friends???I am exaggerating a little bit that is mostly true but she does go to the store and for drives too. I wish I had a friend like that. We would sure be balling in our old age.

I am sure if I look around in the historic minefield of that house I spent half of my days I could find a magazine lying around somewhere that can attest to her mastery in the kitchen. Bet your grammy ain't better than mine!!

Ever had sweet potato bread, banana bread, flour bread, cassava bread, pudding so good that when she says lice the spoon, you end up licking the boil. (Not conductive to your stomach, there is raw egg their.I wish I remembered that back then.)

Best believe that my house was the envy of the block. Who doesn't want to come up and say "Hi cousin Annarine"? My grammy even let my sis and I invite my friends and classmates to watch the last episode of Sailor Moon in her kitchen. We had this one small tv and a couple of chairs around the table and people sitting on the floor. That was the saddest day of every little girl's life, I am sure. The end of Sailormoon!!

Conch Stew, Conch and Grits, Soup and dough (fat dough and skinny dough), boil up, friend chicken!!!!. I know half you guys mouth are watering and the other half is like "Diabetes galore". Clue in, I have seen foreign wrestlers eat from her, so take a back seat and continue reading about this sweet old (you wish you had her) grammy.

I love her and I am 97% sure she loves me. That 3% is for me to know and her to keep.

Sundays when you hear that Baptist bell ring (never asked who actually rings that but I sure it is one of my Forbes cousins from up the road. I will have to ask that) you know Grandaddy is right around the corner. He peeps in and says "Branville, you boys(our cousins) better be out that door behind me by the time I ready to leave".....Meanwhile, my sis and I (the only girls in the house) are praying to God grandmummy hears our inner prayer to sleep in. Who could believe that children who don't do anything but go to school and play wouldn't want to go to church. 0_o Yeah, I thought so!!

Sometimes she would answer that prayer and sometimes she would be like "You all better get yall lazy self up and make ready" [Zombie March, 1,2,3,4 hop 1,2,3,4]

My mom(who we love just as much as our grammy) and I have this argument about once a week but she believes that my grammy song isn't Amazing Grace. Maybe in her time, having to go that same march it wasn't but in my time it was. Come on, I had to sing along to that song at least every third sunday. That song got so racked and butchered until I'm sure the Lord would have told me to change the song. We murdered that. For my grammy, I sang the notes of that song like it was my last wish. Come on, she loves that song. Who wouldn't do it?

My granddaddy favourite is at At the Cross. He loves that song so much until I am sure he would sing it every Sunday before and after he preaches. Haha.

Now, try getting those two to sing that song together....My grandad sings in a more deep somber tone and my grammy is upbeat. So when he is singing "At the crossat the cross where I first saw the light, And the burden of my heart rolled away, It was there by faith I received my sight, And now I am
happy all the...." in that slow deep tone, my grammy is in the seats speeding up the song and bopping her arm to a faster beat to speed him along. Then she would turn to me and say "This man singing to slow". Haha. Can you imagine that!! I love that part of singing hymns with them.

Now when my grammy gets to singing Amazing Grace she can do no wrong. She use to sing it to every church that she was invited too and God forbid my grandad try to mess up her song while she singing it.o_O

There are only four people I act a fool around so that they can laugh their behind off
1.My mummy. Her belly shakes when I do and she starts crying.
2My grammy. Cause she has the exact reaction as my mom.
3.My sister. Cause she is to easy to get a laugh out off.
4My grandaddy. Because I like to think of myself as his favourite girl grandchild. My cousing Vernardo thinks he got the boy spot. Haha. Plus I am still trying to work of my conscience for stealing his quarters (which I am sure he knew I took) when I was younger. Younger being still now. How would I be able to afford my Aunt Doody Icicle. Sure you might say with your own money but for some reason I spot his quarters quicker.

My aunt Doody is the Icicle Queen. They even had the white one back then!!!! She still sells them after all these years. I still buy them also. Another person that was the best at baggy icicle was (God rest the dead) Aunt Celia. I loved stopping their on my way coming from my grammy message. Island people should know what a message is. Otherwise know is you better go get what I tell you and come back quick.

If I remember right ( I am always asking the price. lol. Bad memory) 4 for a dollar. Anytime I am going to kew I never leave without 4 dollars. Got to get some for everyone else too. (I'm not low)

If we are so lucky, when we die heaven should have a special place for all the Kew All Stars people from the then and the now

((Someone from Kew, go read this to her))

 Hope you guys enjoyed!!

Beach body right and tight!!!

I know it's still winter guys but I have been accused of looking too far ahead numerous times.

Is that body getting "beach body right" and "beach body tight"...hmmm. Didn't that sound kind of wrong when you said it?

Let's start over. Is your body where you want it to be? Have you been battling with that last few pounds in the pooch area that just wouldn't go away? I know I am. You craze and craze to lose that last few pounds and succeed in losing motivation when that tuck wouldn't go away.

Wellllllll! Please don't beat me when I say, LADIES and GENTS, we have to work HARDER. Let's say our body is the Titanic, our pooch is Jack and Rose is our exercise plan. Who remembers what happened in that tear jerker movie I am sure you cried in. What happened to Jack when that 0_0..I dont' want to really say hussy....let's say when that girlll Rose decided to quit on that sweet poor man Jack. Hogging up the door(Other debris were going by. I would have made sure my "man" had a door too and we would have sailed into the sunset like them animals on the Madagascar movie.Anyways). Jack died, that is how your pooch is going to do when you railroad your exercise plan. Next thing you know your body is going to turn like the Titanic and sink too.

Do we want to be Titanic's on the beach? I don't know about you but I am shouting "Ride the door Jack!"

Here is a video I have started using as of January 10th, that is not time consuming and only runs 12 minutes. Search Youtube and you will find many videos like this.

12 Minute Standing Up Abs by Laura London Fitness

I took of a week, so I guess that would add to about 9 days for me.

Don't worry guys. I am not advertising. I scrolled through Youtube like the rest of you guys do most days and came upon her video for it's short time length and got on it.

I am not saying that I might not fall off but I am sharing with you guys a goal for the summer. Comment and tell me what is working for you.

Also, I did take the apple cider vinegar and water for a week but I lost half of my back wisdom teeth. lol. (Not saying the drink did it) but I can't afford replacing teeth on no salary.

If you do decide to read about it. Just google in "Apple cider vinegar drink health benefits" and be sure to look at EFFECTS also guys. Safer than sorry. Also, I strongly advise those that are on medication to not take this at all. I would definitely jump through this screen and pinch you!!!

Keep MOTIVATED and don't worry if you fall off. Trying is always a good thing no matter what.

Wish I was standing between the three guys on the right. No shade to the guy on the left though.

Review:The Main Event by Shelly Laurenston

Hi guys!

What fiction are you reading today?

First let me say that I have read every book in this series and the Magnus Pack series and I am itching for the 2014 release of 'Bite Me'.

'The Mane Event' starts of with Mason ''Mace'' Llewellyn, a lion shift of the Llewellyn Pride who is home for good after finishing up time in the Navy. His best  is Bobby Ray ''Smitty'' Smith who is his best friend and served with him in the Navy. Brendon Shaw (the top breeding male of the Llewellyn Pride) who gets his own book next comes to pick him up from the airport and informs him of the death of a breeding male from the Llewellyn Pride. Mace isn't really interested in the details surrounding the case until he reaches home to the pack house and finds his one time friend Desiree "Dez" MacDermot. After more than 20 years its hard for Dez to believe how epically sexy Mace is now. haha. Mace sister Marisssa never liked Dez because of her lower class and the feeling is mutual but I loved how Dez choose her moments to get under Marissa skin. At times Dez could be sweet, especially when she reached up and ran her hand over his brow like she use to do when they were younger. Book one was kind of a mini introduction into most of the characters that will show up in later books.

Mace and Smitty set about discussing starting his own pack and opening up their own security business. Shelly Laurenston was really creative in how the main characters were not over shadowed by the other characters but still they had their own roll in the book. Dez gets poison by one of the sisters in the Brutale family but we later come to find out that she and the Doogans were the one to kill the male breeder so I was sincerely happy when she got hers in the end. Sounds cruel? Mace and Dez relationship progressed nicely throughout except for the moment when she accused Mace of murder. Did you guys get that??? We meet some of the Smith Pack, Crush, Llewelyn Pack, Dez friends(who I wish would have their own book) and some other lay away characters.

Dez family sisters are the best. They go two to two with Mace sisters. Girl fight!! haha. In the end Shaw is taken while trying to find his brother Mitch and Dez is taken when she follows a small shifter child. (Big mistake, they are viscous). Dez kills the Brutale sister and escapes but rescues Shaw at the same time and are cornered off but gets away after pointing fingers at the Doogans for the breeder murder. The Smith packs comes in and steer them out and what do you know. Happy Endinggggg. But wait! We see a Shaw story coming. For about half a second I thought it was Sissy Mae but behold it was Ronnie.

I swear I skipped straight through this Review of 'The Mane Event' but I am reading the whole series over so its a exciting rush to write this so I can get back to it.

Later Guys!

Because of Shelly Laurenston......

I started this new blog the other day mainly because of Shelly Laurenston. Her Magnus Pack and Pride series have been keeping my reading experiences lively since the moment I opened the first e-book. I find myself going through a wide range of emotions when I'm reading one of her books and that is no joke.

I can sit down with a glass of Ice Tea or Kool-Aid and just sip away and hope that I don't end up choking or spewing any all over my computer. Do you ever come across moments like that when you're reading a good comical, fast paced, action packed, everybody 'curses' alot book. Well look no further.

Although, there is so many characters in these series that I find myself forgetting who the sub-characters are since they find themselves being main characters in the later books. Rory, Van-Holtz, Miki, Angelina, etc. The list can go on and on.

Women in these books are just plainly kick ass and take names later. Oh! And I cannot forget Kristen Ashley. She does the dayummmmmmm thing in her books. But a few of hers have had me saying to myself "Damn sure that wouldn't be me" Hopping from one bed to the next like it's Christmas.

Since this is just my reasoning on what started me here I will keep this short.

1.This is for my thoughts on books I read
2. You know you love to read, right???
3.Share your opinions on these books to. I love to hear other people thoughts

Cheers Guys.

Review:Feral Sins (The Phoenix Pack #1) by Suzanne Wright

Taryn a pack healer for her fathers pack  is latent who mother is dead and father is a mean guy.

His looking to strengthen his alliances so he trades her of like use tissue to a very sick guy (Roscoe) that wants to bend her alpha personality into submission and claim her unwillingly.

Throughout this book I could not help but hate her father but I guess that is to be expected for how he treats his daughter but he kinds of redeems himself in the end when her realize that he seriously underestimated his latent daughter.

Book starts of with Taryn waking up in a strange cave after remembering going to a internet cafe. I liked the description of the cave home that Suzanne Wright described. I imagine that it would have been extraordinary to see such a thing inside of a mountain. The extravagant place is the home of the fierce Alpha of the Phoenix Pack Trey Coleman who was banished from his old pack at the age of 14 after defeating his father. Some of the pack members left with him including his mother and started the pack. Honestly, I think that jerk fathers was the running theme of this book and family members who are spineless!

But what really caught me with this book was the neverending banter between Greta, Trey's grandmother and Taryn. You cannot help but laugh at the "hussy" situation and when Taryn uncle came with Nick the Alpha of Taryn's uncle pack. She wanted the uncle to get maul by Trey. Especially when Nick though she was just a sweet old lady.

I have to say that I figured that Selma and Brock's nephew wasn't the one doing all of those things against Taryn. It would have been to obvious to have us casting suspicion on the bad guys for it to turn out to be the bad guys. I had Brock pegged the whole way!

I thought this scene was cute where they all accepted her and kept a eye on her so her friends could really see she was accepted.

"It was laughable the way the males were hanging around trying to look as though they weren't in fact there to keep an eye on her and ensure she wasn't kidnapped. Like that would ever happen. Marcus and Trick were lazing in the lake as if it wasn't a chilly day, Tao sat against a nearby tree reading a book that was upside down, and Dante and Ryan were cleaning a barbecue that was already spick and span. All were occasionally sneaking covert looks at Taryn and her friends, or at least they thought they were being subtle anyway."

My one big down fall with this book was how Trey withdrew so quickly from her and then after he felt her do the same thing to her he wants her to forgive him so easily. At least give her some time Trey! Also, Roscoe got dispatched of quickly in this book at least the confrontation could have been built up better and probably have more than one battle with him instead of him just showing up, they fight, he gets gutted and then dead. Maybe he could have kidnapped her or atleast something???

All in all a absolutely not short but light read to have anyway. On Goodreads I gave this book 3.9 out of 5 stars.

Anyway guys what did you thing of the book?

Anyone on Goodreads can add me: Shirley Temple

"Women Weekly" Gold Kalil:Ginger Drink

I think I have found the answer for women everywhere or some women who are willing to try it. The other day, while shopping in the Asian Isle I saw this Ginger Drink. It was a random pick up for no reason at all but to expand my shopping list and try new foods at stores. It was a good purchase!

As many may know, I do not like to be a test guinea pig for anyone. Rather I like to use others to be my testers. I tried putting this off and succeeded in waiting two weeks to try this. I boiled some water. Read the packet and then added a little bit at a time. (Didn't make sense going overboard with the whole packet). To make matters worse I did it all without SUGAR. As women,we know that ANY sugar drink, carbonated drink, alcohol or fatty foods can make cramping much worse during that time of the month.

Although water retention might be a painful side effect for some women on their periods, water helps to lessen some of the the pain. Warm or hot water, drank or used during bath time relaxes cramp but who wants to make those almost hourly trips to the bathroom.

I am one of many women in my family that suffers from painful periods. Some people try pill after pill and after a while even that stops working. You know how alcoholics be like "It taste just like water now"? Well that is how pills have become for me. You can't just stay in bed and hope for the best or miss out on work, school or trips. After trying the drink I could feel the drink working a few minutes after sipping. It was like a pleasant relief to my system. A WARNING (THIS DRINK IS STRONG!!) so don't just do the crazy thing and use the whole packet. Might get ginger shock. haha.

Hope this help someone out there and if you do try this drink comment below and tell me about your experience.

For those that know my personal Youtube Obiwankanobilegacy....... IslandGurlz3900 was recently started to separate my personal youtube and our public Youtube for our postings. Also some past post from this blog has been deleted because of the expansion over to going from a "me" to a "we". I think you get the point. To many accounts. Dishes of the Week 22/01/2014

Sweet and Sour Beef with Veggies Side of White Rice.

This one is for the ladiessss....Are you self conscious while heading to the tampon isle?

Which lady out there feels at least a touch of "I hate this isle" when their at the store? I find that I feel that way about 99% of the time. Some of you even resort to sending your parents or (God Forbid) you send your bf/hubby. I don't think I would fall into that hole unless I forgot and he was my last resort. haha. But sometimes when you are single and scoping out for that next catch you want to be seem as "The Bomb Dot Com". You don't want to be seen with those things but it is definitely something you need. Today when I was riding the bus back from the store I thought about this and then my mind veered on to, "What did our parents had to put up with in those cloth days?" For some, that scenario was a reality where women had to use what ever cloth was handy and hope for the best. Sometimes having to clean and reuse them over and over. Some times we have to stop, think and Thank God for the advancements of the world today because I cannot imagine changing my now for the days back then.
